19th Century Famille Rose Mandarin Porcelain Plate

This Famille Rose Mandarin Porcelain Plate is an high quality example of this export motif. The enamels are very skillfully applied with shading and layering to enhance the quality of the decoration. The court scene has a border consisting of common elements such as flowers and butterflies made more unique by the addition of the three pomegranates. The gilt trim is in excellent condition with very little loss. As this is an earlier 19th century example, there is some loss of details to the facial features of the figures

There is one very small chip on the rim. It has been captured in the pictures.

The plate has a diameter of approximately 8.5 inches.
