Brocade Silk Maru Obi Sash Meiji Era
This beautifully embroidered Brocade Silk Maru Obi Sash originates to the 19th Century. It is wonderfully detailed with phoenixes in red and gold, scrolls, flowers, an array of foliage, and other intricate designs in the background. The craftsmanship is apparent in every stitch.
The sash is approximately 130 inches long and 12 inches wide at the widest point. The obi is in excellent condition with no tears, frays, or stains. There is a 9 inch section where the stitching has raveled (shown in pictures).
