Burmese Kalaga Silk Tapestry - Vintage (Free Shipping!!)
This beautiful wall hanging dates to the 2nd half of the 20th century. It is skillfully crafted of gold silk, black linen (backing), yellow, gold, bronze and silver metallic threads, silver and gold sequins, clear beads for highlights, and black beads for the details. The largest elephant's tail is made of black yarn. Black velvet is used for the hooves of the middle elephant. The craftsmanship displays embroidery skills along with quilting and sewing. All elephants are stuffed and raised from the surface. There are five tabbed loops for hanging bars at the top and bottom. The top bar is included. The brown and black rounded wooden ends are connected by a black bar, which complements the colors of the tapestry.
