Chinese Porcelain Prunus Ginger Jar
A classic Chinese Porcelain Prunus Ginger Jar with an ovoid body and high shoulders. It is decorated with a traditional prunus blossom motif on a cobalt blue ground and artfully crafted with hand painted decor. This small jar can serve for functional use to hold herbs, such as ginger, but would likely make a better collector's piece or home decor accent. It is marked with 2 blue rings which were used to mark pottery during the late Kangxi and continued to present day. "China" is also on the base, which places the likely date of manufacture between 1891 and 1912.
Measures 6" tall and approximately 5" across the body with an approximate 2" diameter opening. There is a small crack on the unglazed interior of the lid rim. There is no other damage.
