Republic Period Wanyu Rice Grain Plates
This pair of remarkably detailed saucers date to the Republic period based on the style of the the Wanyu mark and the decoration of the pieces. Each piece displays hand painting so there is much variation however the underglaze blue bats and I-ching symbols are consistent as is the chrysanthemum adorning the center. Some of the rice grains are outlined in red and rust red designs also lie between the upper and inner borders. Gold circles enhance the decoration and trim the rim of the pieces.
Each plate has a 4 inch diameter and a depth of approximately 1.25 inches.
