Meiji Period Japanese Cloisonne Vase by Gonda Hirosuke
This is a rare Meiji Period Japanese Cloisonne Vase by Gonda Hirosuke that has sustained damage. It is the mirror image of a vase previously sold that was in perfect condition. The vase is extremely detailed in its design with the flowers, leaves and blades of grass appearing to be three dimensional. This is wireless cloisonne features various muted colors on a mirror enamel background. The mark of Gonda Hirosuke is clearly impressed into the base.
The damaged area has been clearly photographed and highlighted. This vase will make an excellent restoration project for any enthusiast.
The vessel measures approximately 3.75 inches. The price is a reflection of the damage.
