Ming Blue and White Porcelain Water Dropper
This Ming Blue and White Porcelain Water Dropper in chicken form is a nice early example of a scholars item used for calligraphy. Water is placed into the dropper to be dispensed in very small amounts onto an inkstone. It is approximately 3.5 inches by 3.25 inches. There is no apparent damage and the piece has wear consistent with age and use. There is the remnants of adhesive on the base. There are glaze and firing flaws present as should be expected.
This antique water dropper is one of the various items acquired from the collection of Maria Worthington of Northern Virginia.
