Ming Dynasty Blue and White Qilin Chinese Porcelain Dish
This is an fine example of a late Ming Blue and White Qilin Porcelain Dish with a brown dressed rim. Its only decoration is a Qilin surrounded by other designs within two concentric rings. This type of dish was produced for export as well as domestic use. The bowl is a true treasure that will complement any collection. Acquired from the collection of Maria Worthington of Northern Virginia.
The bowl is slightly misshaped and has kiln grit adhering to the unmarked foot. This is a typical feature of a dish from this period. There is no damage to the dish.
The weight shown gives consideration to the extra padding necessary for safe shipping. The bowl has an approximate 5.25 inch diameter.
