Ming Hongzhi Blue and White Chinese Porcelain Bowl
This is a beautifully rendered example of a Hong Zhi period Blue and White Chinese Porcelain Bowl. The exterior is decorated with a overlapping diaper pattern that appears almost as overlapping circles. The foot is bordered by lappets featuring stylized clouds. The interior is decorated with a blue ring around an intricate central design enhanced by an upper border of what appears to be Buddhist symbols. Acquired from the collection of Maria Worthington of Northern Virginia.
There are glaze and firing flaws present as should be expected. The bowl is in excellent condition.
The weight shown gives consideration to the extra padding necessary for safe shipping. The bowl has a slightly more than 5 inch diameter and approximate 2.5 inch height.
