This is a wonderful watercolor on silk painting by an unknown artist. The signature and seals cannot be fully deciphered. The inscription on the painting is from a Chinese poem by Du Fu. It roughly translates to the following:
Deserted temple stands behind the willows
Spring is going wild between the water filled fields
Beautiful flowers and bamboos are reflected on them
Birds tend not to return to the mountains
The painting measures 10.5 x 36 inches, with the bamboo frame. Stamp on back confirms the painting was framed in 1962
