Gilded Geisha Girl Japanese Porcelain Teacup and Saucer
This lovely gold trimmed tea cup and saucer pair features a group of Geisha's looking out onto a lake near Mt. Fuji. The pieces are accentuated with enameled details over transfer printed designs. The flowers almost seem to be rising from the surface as a result. There is a cherry blossom mark on the base with kanji characters. The pieces date to the early 20th century.
The saucer has a diameter of 5.5 inches. The diameter of the cup is 3.75 inches and the depth is 2 inches. There is some loss of gold around the edges of the saucer and cup. The wear is consistent with age.
