This is a more unique version of a traditional mudman figure depicting a seated scholar or wiseman holding some type of basket, circa 1900. Rather than the normal sancai glaze, this mudman has a flambe glaze, combining multiple colors. China is stamped on the base.
This mudman is in excellent condition. There is a firing flaw to the back and small chip under hat rim.
The figure is approximately 5 inches tall, base is 3 inches wide at farthest points.
