In the 18th century, Chinese porcelain export dishes primarily produced in the Jingdezhen kilns, featured intricate hand-painted designs often inspired by both Chinese and Western botanical motifs. The Qing Dynasty (1644–1912) saw a surge in demand for these pieces, tailored to Western tastes, often incorporating famille rose and famille verte palettes. These dishes not only served as tableware but also as prestigious decorative items in Western households.
This rare example of 18th C Chinese export porcelain is decorated in a floral pattern that was common during the period. However, the shape and crafting of the rim make it stand out. There is a hairline, which is shown in pictures and a small chip. There is also enamel loss to the brown glazed rim. Please review all pictures carefully as part of the description.
