This is a late 19 century to early 20th century Flambe Porcelain Alms Bowl of compressed circular form. The thick deep red glaze reveals a depth of color that darkens to nearly black. The interior is covered in a crackle glaze as is a center section of the unglazed foot rim. There is thick glaze overrun that was chipped away during finishing. The alms bowl is 9 inches across and 2.75 inches in depth.
There is no damage but evidence of age related wear and the normal chipping to the glaze overrun at the foot. There is also a crack on the interior which was created during firing.
