This lovely estate find is a 4 inch work of art. The red, blue, and green of the hand painted birds and foliage are wonderfully highlighted and outlined in gold. There is also gilt around the edge and the marking on the bottom is in gold. The mark reads Shuzan under the Shimazu family crest.Late 19th to early 20th century, of the Meiji period (1868 - 1912). Overall excellent condition. Diameter 4" from lobe to lobe.
