This Guangxu Period Chinese Rose Mandarin Porcelain Vase dates to the late 19th century and is a nice example of style of decoration popular at that time. The vase features mythical beasts and flower balls, all surrounding a scholar seated at a table. The scholar has been boldly defined with gold. The border design under the rim consists of delicately painted flowers. This vibrantly colored vase will make a great addition to any collection.
The vase is not marked. There is a chip to the foot rim, which is shown in the pictures. There is also wear from use and age.
The jar is approximately 6.5 inches tall, 3 inches across the widest point.
