This Satsuma-ware porcelain bowl is a nice example of porcelain made in the style of Satsuma pottery. The lobed border and reticulation make this a unique style. The large crackles are common to Satsuma ware rather than authentic Satsuma pottery. The apocryphal Chinese reign mark on the base is an unusual mark to find on Satsuma ware. The painting and designs are very well done.
There are signs of wear that are consistent with age. There is no damage. This listing is for one of four total bowls.
Diameter approximately 9 inches and the bowl has a depth of approximately 2 inches.
