Orange Glaze Chrysanthemum Kutani Ginger Jars
A lovely hand painted pair of Orange Glaze Chrysanthemum Kutani ginger jars from the Showa period circa 1960 - 1970. Decorated with the symbolic chrysanthemums that adorn many fine Japanese porcelain items. The ground is almost salmon in color with rust colored chrysanthemums surrounding a large white flower as the focal point of the design. All flowers are outlined in gold, The mark on the bottom reads "Kutani bunpo", which is likely a kiln or factory. Measure approximately 5.5 inches tall and 4 inches wide.
The jars were acquired from the estate of a famous actor's mother who lived in the Washington DC area.
